Our cells accumulate damage over time, becoming less efficient, which leads to the typical signs of ageing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container-slim\">\n<p>As people are living longer and seeking ways to age more healthily, they are looking deeper for ways to enhance their health. When it comes to longevity and cellular ageing, a key element that is now being explored is telomeres.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container-slim\">\n<p>These minuscule portions of chromosomes play an important role as people are searching for ways to support healthy ageing. Cells need to divide to aid processes such as repairing damage, growing, and replacing old cells. Telomeres protect DNA during cell division from damage and are much like plastic tips on shoelaces that prevent fraying.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container-slim\">\n<p>Each time a cell divides, though, telomeres gradually become shorter, resulting in less protection for the chromosome.
